I used to be a very minor participant in so-called "Conservative Christian Politics." The experience reminds me of old National Geographic programs where you'd see a snake charmer play a tune for a poisonous deadly reptile and get it to dance for a few moments until it slithered off, turned around and struck at you.
Karl Rove, Nancy Pelosi, Scooter Libby, John Kerry and a host of others all demonstrate reptilian behavior in their quest for power. Strange things happen to people when they lust for the ring of power. Yet, those who hold the elusive ring of power leave a mark on this world that has consequences for centuries.
Politics is a world of snakes and snake charmers, on all sides of the isle. Yet, we can't take our eye off the ball. If we do, the snakes take over unabated.
Being a mongoose is no easy task either. I've seen many become enamored of the reptiles they hunt and begin to seek the ring of power for themselves.
So, I pray, and I vote and try to keep the snakes who would be king at bey.
